A configuration review is faster and more useful when the vessel information is complete. A short general arrangement package gives the engineering team a practical picture of the hull, equipment layout and available installation areas before a custom self-righting system is proposed.
Start with the vessel identity
Provide the vessel type, manufacturer or builder where available, overall length and the normal service role. A rescue boat, patrol craft, workboat and USV can have very different deck layouts and operating requirements even when their lengths are similar.
Show the loaded arrangement
Include a general arrangement drawing if one is available, along with photos from both sides, the stern, transom and working deck. Mark major fixed equipment, battery banks, fuel tanks, lockers, payload areas and any structures that limit access.
Record the weight and operating condition
The fully loaded vessel weight should cover the hull, propulsion, fuel, batteries, permanent equipment, crew and normal payload. If the vessel changes between operating modes, describe those changes rather than relying on an empty-hull figure.
Use the review to define a project scope
The information package supports a configuration review. It does not replace a stability assessment, approved installation drawings, maintenance procedures, safety equipment or the compliance requirements for the vessel's operating area.
