For a self-righting project, the useful first step is not selecting a bag size from a catalogue. The system has to be reviewed against the actual vessel, loading condition and installation arrangement. Sending the right information at the start helps us prepare a practical configuration and quotation.
What to include in a self-righting system enquiry
- Vessel type and use. State whether the boat is a rescue craft, workboat, patrol boat, RIB or USV, and describe its operating environment.
- Main dimensions. Include length, beam and fully loaded displacement. A general-arrangement drawing is helpful when available.
- Loading condition and centre of gravity. Batteries, deck equipment, passengers and payload all affect the righting requirement. Share the intended operating condition, not only the empty-hull weight.
- Installation arrangement. Provide photographs, mounting space, available structure and any restrictions on cylinders, frames or inflation bags.
- Activation and integration needs. Tell us whether the project requires manual activation, automatic triggering, remote control or integration with vessel equipment.
- Quantity, timing and destination. These details let us confirm scope, delivery terms, lead time and shipping quotation.
How the configuration review works
HVON supplies custom self-righting systems for boats and USVs. We review the vessel information and discuss the proposed arrangement before confirming a configuration. The scope of supply is the self-righting system; the boat itself is not included.
Model dimensions alone do not demonstrate that a system will right a particular vessel. If your project has a specified test method, certification requirement or acceptance criterion, include it with the enquiry so that applicability can be checked before an order is placed.
